Guardian Angel Prayer

The Angel of God prayer (Angele Dei) is often the first prayer children learn: it asks the angel God has appointed to guard us to light, guard, rule and guide us through the day.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom his love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Latin

Angele Dei, qui custos es mei, me tibi commissum pietate superna, illumina, custodi, rege et guberna. Amen.

Collect of the Holy Guardian Angels

O God, who by a wonderful providence dost vouchsafe to send thy holy Angels to guard us, grant to thy suppliants that we may always be defended by their protection, and rejoice eternally in their companionship. Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God world without end. Amen.
